Becoming a master artist is a long and challenging journey that requires dedication, hard work, and persistence. Constant learning and incorporation of new techniques and skills are the pathways to success.
Here are some general steps you can take to develop your skills and reach a higher level of proficiency in the art. ARTIStIC is my recipe for you!
A for Apply and R is for Research
Apply knowledge.
Study the fundamentals. To become a master artist, you need to have a solid understanding of the basic elements of art, such as color theory, composition, perspective, anatomy, and shading.
Take classes, read books, watch tutorials, and practice these skills regularly.
The art world is vast and diverse, encompassing a wide range of styles, mediums, and movements.
You can start by researching the art of your favorite artists (everyone has ONE!). Take a closer look at one single art piece, pay attention to the big picture (main object and surrounding area), and then look at the smaller, not less important details such as color, light/shadows, texture, etc.
T is for Try
Try new techniques, experiment with different mediums, and combine the unimaginable to find the one that you enjoy the most and that allows you to express your ideas and emotions effectively.
I is for Instrument
Instrument #1 in your success: Feedback
Show your work to other artists, art teachers, or mentors, and listen to their constructive feedback.
Use their advice to improve your skills and push your art to the next level.
The most important factor in becoming a master artist is to practice regularly.
Set aside time each day or week to work on your art, even if it's just for a few minutes.
Consistency is key to improving your skills and achieving your goals.
St is for Style and I is for Inspire
Develop your own style, it will come with time, not at once! Experiment with different styles and techniques until you find your own unique voice. A distinct style will make your art more recognizable and memorable.
Inspire others by building your portfolio. Build a strong portfolio of your best work, and regularly update it with new pieces that showcase your growth and development as an artist.
C is for Compete
Compete with YOURSELF!
Enter art contests and exhibitions to get your work noticed by a larger audience and to gain exposure in the art world.
In closing, remember that becoming a master artist or a master of art takes time, patience, and hard work.
Don't be discouraged by setbacks or failures; instead, use them as opportunities to learn and grow.
With dedication and persistence, you can reach your full potential as an artist.

Dan Podsobinski - Great advice, Elena! I enjoyed seeing the images used to create each finished work. Really curious to learn how you created the black and white drawing with the young men/brothers? This is something that looks hand-painted!
