Elena Ganusova, Board At Large
My name is Elena Ganusova, and I was born and raised in Siberia, Russia, to be precise. I hold a Master's degree in microbiology and a Ph.D. in biophysics. Throughout my life, I have dedicated my career to working in research labs.
My passion for photography ignited at a young age, around six, thanks to my father, who introduced me to the magic of black-and-white photography. Over the years, my interest in photography has grown stronger, leading me to enroll in a photography program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where I earned my first certification in photography.
It's hard to believe that just a few years ago, I couldn't even dream of sharing my images, essentially my artwork, with an audience. Today, I teach classes on creative composition in Photoshop. My work has been highly accepted in various local, state, national, and international competitions, and it has been exhibited in galleries across the Knoxville area.
In the past four years, I've achieved multiple degrees with the Professional Photographers of America (PPA): Photographic Craftsman (2019), Master Artist (2022), and Master of Photography (2023). I had the distinct honor of serving as the President of the Professional Photographers of East Tennessee (PPETN) for several years and as a board member at the Tennessee Professional Photographers Association (TNPPA). In 2023, I was fortunate to be inducted into the Hall of Fame of TNPPA
