Arlissa Gentry, Board At Large
Arlissa's life has been an exciting journey. As a military spouse, she traveled the world with her family before earning a bachelor’s nursing degree and dedicating over 20 years to emergent care nursing. Along the way, she and her husband became foster parents, positively impacting many lives.
Then, on her birthday, her family gifted her a camera, setting the stage for her photography adventure. Initially self-taught, Arlissa recognized the need for formal training, which led her to the Atlanta School of Photography. Here, she discovered her passion for photography, refining her skills and embarking on a continuous evolution.
Seeking personalized mentorship, she learned under an award-winning photographer, commuting between Riceville, TN, and Atlanta, GA, for five years to refine her craft. Arlissa attributes her photography growth to the nurturing mentorship of like-minded professionals and active participation in organizations such as the Atlanta School of Photography (ASOP), the Professional Photographers of East Tennessee (PPETN), and the Tennessee Professional Photographers Association (TNPPA). These affiliations not only validated her skills but also kindled her determination to set new personal and business goals.
Her work received recognition through awards, thanks to the encouragement from fellow group members. With a compassionate heart, Arlissa warmly mentors emerging photographers, helping them refine their skills, discover their unique style, and provide unwavering support on their journey. She delights in sharing her knowledge and camaraderie in a field that can often be isolating.
Arlissa's business, Klixx Photography, caters to a diverse clientele, specializing in
couples and creative portraits. Her enthusiasm for exploring various photography
genres brings her immense joy, and she remains committed to refining her skills
and earning multiple photography certifications.
She eagerly anticipates the ongoing evolution of her photography, aiming to
create captivating images that share the boundless joy she finds in photography
every day.
